Friday night June 22, 2007 in Mesquite Texas at The North American Nationals ("NAN") . NAN is a national championship show held annually and hosted by the North American Model Horse Showers Association. This is the world's largest model horse show, regularly attracting upwards of 200 entrants from around the globe. Model horse artist, Marilyn Jensen was invited to donate a piece for the NAMHSA annual fund raising auction. Marilyn chose Cholla as her model and with the permission of Cholla's owners , Marilyn painted her Cholla " Painting in the Pasture " , using pastels over airbrushed acrylics, with hand painted acrylic details. Cholla started out as a traditional scale "Caldero" Mustang, sculpted by Sarah Rose and cast in a limited edition of 50 resin pieces. Marilyn customized the resincast before painting to reflect Cholla's part-Quarter Horse heritage.
